I received a copy of Glimmers of You from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

He hadn’t always just been my brother’s best friend. There was a time when he was mine, too. Until he disappeared from our small town when I needed him the most.
Now, Caden’s back. With his cocky smirk and infuriating nicknames. And I’m struggling to ignore his presence.
When my ex refuses to leave me alone, Caden steps in, suggesting that it will get my ex and Caden’s calculating father off both our backs if we just pretend to be madly in love.
There’s just one problem… Nothing I feel for Caden Shaw is fake—even when I thought I hated him. And there’s no denying how the touch of his lips sparks a flame I’ll never be able to extinguish.
As those pretend moments start to turn oh so real, someone’s watching. They’re not happy about Caden’s new role in my life. And they’ll do anything to rip me away from him—even burn us all to the ground…

Glimmers of You by Catherine Cowles is the third book in the Lost and Found series. It is a small town, brother’s best friend romance with suspense elements. As kids, Grae was close with Caden – her brother’s best friend – but events saw them drift apart until he returns to town to help run his family’s resort. Forced into seeing Caden again, Grae is non-plussed until he steps in when one of her exes can’t take the hint. Caden suggests they pretend to be dating to get the guy off Grae’s back, but there’s more at play as Grae finds herself the victim of a series of unprovoked attacks.
If you’re at all familiar with Catherine Cowles books, Glimmers of You hits a lot of the same beats that long-time readers will be familiar with. There’s a strong emphasis on family as Grae is close with her older brothers and is used to dealing with their overprotective nature. Cowles is also very reliable in her chronic illness representation in her books – this time, Type 1 Diabetes. As a fan of small town romantic suspense (although, let’s face it, it makes me never want to live in a small town!) I enjoyed a lot of those elements. I also enjoyed Grae and Caden having to rediscover their connection to one another and heal old hurts and face their feelings.
While this is part of a series there’s enough backstory that you could read it on its own – although I’d recommend the entire series because the characters are great. I’m looking forward to the next book.
Tropes: Small town, brother’s best friend, forced proximity, fake dating, hate to love, billionaire
