She’d sooner tase him than prance around in practically nothing, hanging all over his chiseled body like she can’t get enough.
For Swain, being partnered with the too-gorgeous-for-his-sanity Eden promises to test his well-honed control. She’s smart, she’s skilled, she’s not just by-the-book—she knows the damn book backward and forward. And she hates his guts.

This was a fun contemporary romance book with a relationship between two recent police academy graduates who are thrown together to work an undercover case. Eden Brixton graduated top of her class and is annoyed to find herself having to pretend to be engaged to her in-class rival, Marcus Swain. The two barely managed to get through their training together and now have to learn to tolerate, learn from and lean on each other while investigating a drug ring in the town.
I haven’t read any other books in the Private Pleasures series, but this one was quite enjoyable, it not always believable. For those who enjoy an enemies to lovers and fake dating plot, this is probably enough to get you through this story. And if that doesn’t work for you, this has a very low-angst plot.
This was a quick, steamy read, with a fun romantic suspense plot, and lots of cameos from other characters in the series.
