I received a copy of Firestorm from the publisher for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Amber and her insects are back in a thrilling adventure with a new ally – and an old foe!
Amber paused. When she spoke again, it was almost a whisper. ‘What if we could be a family again?’
Reunited at last, Amber and Reggie combine forces to save insects and humans from a catastrophic fire. But somehow, Agent Ferris is tracking their every step. Could they have been lured into a trap?

Firestorm by Anh Doh is the seventh book in the Sky Dragon series. This ongoing middle fiction serial follows a young girl with the extraordinary ability to communicate with, and utilise, insects to help her stand up against the treacherous agents on her trail. After a long separation, Amber and Reggie are reunited and find themselves having to protect insects and humans alike from a raging fire, while trying to stay out of traps laid to capture them and discover their identities.
As with all Anh Doh’s series, this one is fast-paced and action packed. There aren’t really any slow moments in the book, and due to it’s serial nature, the book starts right where book 6 finished and ends with a lead-in to book 8. While this one deals with themes of reconnecting with family, discovering truths and seeking out your true purpose, there are also elements of environmentalism, and a challenge to redeem the perception of insects. Long time Anh Doh readers/fans will enjoy the continuation of this series.
